The design for the background on this print was taken from the etched glass enclosures on the bus stops in Bellevue, WA. I had been driving by them for years without really noticing them. When I started doing prints, my “eye” changed and I started seeing things from a design standpoint and I suddenly noticed what an amazing design our bus stops contained.

The background here is a lino cut. The torii gate uses a collage technique using colored paper which I doctored with an art pen to get a more textured color.
